The project involved studies on beach sands collected from tourism beaches in Peninsular Malaysia. Activity concentrations of uranium, thorium and potassium-40 were carried out. From the concentrations assessment on external radiation hazard was done. Results indicated that all samples studied shows external radiation index of less than 1 (one).
